Singapore Police to share all evidence in Zubeen Garg case: Himanta Biswa Sarma
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has clarified that there is no requirement for the Assam Police to travel to Singapore in connection with the investigation into the death of renowned singer and actor Zubeen Garg.
Speaking to reporters, Sarma explained that under international law, foreign countries do not permit direct investigations by another nation’s police authorities on their soil. “Our investigation is not required to go to Singapore because whatever evidence the Singapore Police will collect, they will share with us. Our request has already been sent. No foreign country allows another country’s police to investigate; that is not the law,” the Chief Minister stated.
Sarma added that communication between the two nations is already underway through proper diplomatic and legal channels to ensure transparency and cooperation in the probe. He urged the public to remain patient and trust the process as the investigation progresses.
