Six arrested in Police raid on illegal gambling den in Assam's Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh Police arrested six people during a raid on an alleged illegal gambling den at Paltan Bazaar Bus Godown in the city.

Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a surprise operation at the location and detained six persons allegedly involved in the gambling activities. During the raid, police also seized six mobile phones and an undisclosed amount of cash.

According to information received, the gambling operation had allegedly been running for a long time at the bus godown premises, located near the Secretariat in Paltan Bazaar.

A person identified as Dasharath Prasad has been accused of allowing gambling activities to operate from his residence for an extended period.

The raid has created a stir in the locality. Police have launched an investigation into the matter to ascertain further details.
