Statue of Zubeen Garg unveiled at Assam's Boko

An emotional atmosphere prevailed in Boko on the evening of May 20 as Garima Saikia Garg unveiled a grand statue of Assam’s music icon Zubeen Garg during a programme organised by the Bogai Cultural Committee.

The event was attended by noted singer Jublee Baruah along with several artistes and admirers of the late singer.

The 10-foot-tall statue, sculpted by Pulak Ravha, was unveiled amid musical performances and tributes celebrating Zubeen Garg’s immense contribution to Assam’s cultural landscape.

Speaking at the ceremony, Garima Saikia Garg said the love and affection of the people of Assam had always been the greatest blessing in their lives. She added that Zubeen Garg’s contributions to music, society and environmental causes would continue to inspire generations.

She also appealed for a peaceful and progressive Assam and urged the youth to carry forward the ideals and vision of the legendary artiste.

The ceremony featured soulful performances by Garima Garg, Jublee Baruah and other singers, making the evening a memorable tribute to one of Assam’s most celebrated cultural icons.

The statue now stands as a symbol of the people’s enduring admiration and respect for Zubeen Garg and his lasting impact on Assam’s cultural and social fabric.
