Teacher-student tension escalates at Assam's Nagaon school, police complaint filed
A controversy has erupted at Alitangani ME School under Kathiatoli Education Block in Nagaon district after a science teacher allegedly smashed a ceiling fan inside a classroom in front of students, triggering tension on the school premises.
According to reports, science teacher Dil Saddique allegedly broke a ceiling fan in the classroom two days ago amid intense heat, creating an uneasy atmosphere among students and teachers.
The incident reportedly led to a dispute with the school management committee. Alleging that the teacher had disregarded the committee, the school management subsequently lodged a complaint at Kachua Police Station.
After learning about the police complaint, a section of students reportedly did not attend school and instead went to the police station. The development has raised questions over why the situation escalated to such a level and what led the students to leave the school and approach the police.
The headmaster has reportedly alleged that the science teacher attempted to provoke students and claimed that there have been several other complaints against the teacher.
The incident has drawn criticism from various sections of the local community, with concerns being raised over the deteriorating atmosphere at the educational institution.
The matter has now come under the attention of the authorities, and all eyes are on the Education Department to see what action, if any, will be taken following the allegations and the complaint.
