Teenager’s body found at home in Assam’s Bongaigaon, six detained; locals allege murder

The body of a 16-year-old boy was recovered from his residence at Ambari-Tilapara in Abhayapuri, Assam’s Bongaigaon district, triggering suspicion among locals.

The deceased has been identified as Asif Ahmed. According to local residents, the body may have remained inside the house for two to three days before it was discovered.

Residents also said Asif had been suffering from a vision-related illness since Class 2.

The circumstances surrounding his death have raised suspicion among locals, who have alleged that he may have been murdered. The allegation, however, has not yet been established.

Police reached the spot after the body was recovered and detained six people in connection with the incident for questioning.

The circumstances leading to the teenager’s death and the exact cause of death are yet to be ascertained. Further investigation is underway.
