Tension erupts at Assam–Nagaland border in Ralan village; scuffle reported with CRPF
Tension flared up in Ralan village along the Assam–Nagaland border after a group of Naga youths allegedly attempted to attack personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
According to reports, some locals, armed with weapons, were seen engaging in a physical scuffle with CRPF personnel during the confrontation. Visuals of the incident have since gone viral on social media, further escalating concerns in the border area.
Sources said the dispute reportedly began over the reopening of a fuel depot situated in a border area inhabited by Naga residents. The depot had earlier been shut down, and efforts to resume operations allegedly triggered opposition from sections of the local population, leading to the clash.
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, and security has been tightened in the area to prevent further escalation. Official confirmation regarding injuries or arrests was awaited at the time of filing this report.
