Three arrested after daring night robbery near Assam-Meghalaya border

Security forces from Dhupdhara and Dudhnoi, led by the Dudhnoi Co-District Superintendent of Police, successfully arrested three robbers allegedly involved in a violent robbery at Tiplai village under Dhupdhara Police Station on Sunday, September 1.

The arrests were made near the Assam-Meghalaya border in Dudhnoi during a joint raid launched soon after the incident. Police said the dacoity was carried out by a gang comprising several members, and efforts are underway to track down the remaining suspects.

The three arrested individuals have been identified as Abhinash Rabha, Rahul Koch, and Apurba Rabha. From their possession, police recovered a red Datsun vehicle, ₹75,000 in cash, one mobile phone, and a set of iron weapons reportedly used during the robbery.

Senior officers at Dhupdhara Police Station are interrogating the trio to extract details about the gang’s network and other potential hideouts. Authorities confirmed that multiple members of the group are still absconding, and search operations have been intensified in the border areas.
