Three children fall into rainwater pit in Assam’s Jogighopa; two dead, one survives

A tragic incident was reported from Jogighopa in Assam's Bongaigaon district, where three children from the same family fell into a rainwater-filled pit, leaving two dead and one injured.

The incident occurred at Bharalkundi area, where the children reportedly slipped out of their house while playing and fell into a deep pit filled with rainwater near their home.

The deceased have been identified as Ayub Ali (3) and Rubina Khatun (around 2.5 years). Another child, Sabina Khatun (18 months), survived and is currently undergoing treatment.

Police from Jogighopa recovered the bodies and sent them for post-mortem examination to Bongaigaon.

The incident has triggered widespread grief in the locality, with residents mourning the loss of the young lives.
