Three Rajasthan men arrested in alleged bid to take minor girl from Assam's Sivasagar

The Geleki police in Assam's Sivasagar district have arrested three men from Rajasthan for allegedly attempting to take a minor girl from Kolgaon Bogi Chapori village to Rajasthan.

The accused have been identified as Mohan Ram, Rajesh Bhati and Sukhram. Police said the three men had been staying at a house in the village for the past three days.

According to officials, the police intercepted the trio while they were allegedly making arrangements to take a 15-year-old girl from Bogi Chapori out of the State. The minor was subsequently rescued.

The police also detained the girl's grandfather, Suleman Laik, in connection with the case.

All four individuals are being questioned as part of the investigation. Police said efforts are underway to ascertain the circumstances leading to the incident and whether others may have been involved.
