Trinamool Congress state vice-president and Lower Assam in-charge Dulu Ahmed Assam minister and Bajali MLA Ranjeet Kumar Dass on May 3 during an election campaign at Chenglimari in Dhumarpothar, Bhawanipur.
Addressing the gathering, Ahmed branded Dass as the "most unsuccessful minister" in the current Assam Cabinet, citing failures in governance and public service.
Ahmed’s remarks came while campaigning in support of Trinamool candidates Mohibul Haque, contesting for the regional panchayat member post from Dhumarpothar Gaon Panchayat No. 24, and Punam Ramsiary, vying for the North Bajali Zila Parishad seat. In his address, the TMC leader claimed that Dass’ election meetings have recorded the lowest public turnout, reflecting growing discontent among the people.
Further intensifying his attack, Ahmed pointed to the minister's alleged failure in handling the Supply Department portfolio. He blamed Dass' inaction for the surge in prices of essential commodities across Assam, asserting that the department's role is to stabilize the market by balancing demand and supply—a responsibility, Ahmed argued, the minister has failed to fulfill.
