Tragic road accident on Assam-Meghalaya border leaves 38 workers injured

A devastating road accident late Wednesday night in Tangaon, located on the Assam-Meghalaya border within South Salmara-Mankachar district, left 38 labourers injured.

The incident occurred around 11 pm, when a pick-up van carrying the labourers lost control and crashed while attempting a U-turn. The workers, who had just completed their tasks at a residence in Puthimari, Mankachar, were en route to Bamunpara when the accident happened.

Following the crash, the injured were swiftly transported to Hatshingimari District Hospital for medical treatment. Due to the severity of their injuries, four of the labourers were subsequently referred to Goalpara for critical care.
