Both arrested personnel were posted at Patharkandi Police Station.</p>

<p>According to the allegations, on September 10, a business associate was picked up from Patharkandi Railway Station in a police vehicle and taken to the Chandkhira area, where Rs 14 lakh was allegedly taken from him.</p>

<p>During the investigation, the names of two police personnel, including a sub-inspector posted at Patharkandi Police Station, came to light. Subsequently, Lance Naik Anwar Hussain and Constable Sajal Shuklabaidya were arrested.</p>

<p>According to police sources, searches were conducted at the residences of the two arrested personnel, during which a total of Rs 2 lakh was recovered.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, the accused SI, M. Nangthaiba Singh, is currently absconding. Police have launched a search operation to trace him.</p>

<p>The incident has caused concern in Sribhumi district.</p>
