Two drug peddlers arrested with 24 drug-filled containers in Assam's Rupahihat anti-narcotics operation
Continuing its crackdown on narcotics, Rupahihat Police in Assam's Nagaon district arrested two alleged drug peddlers and seized 24 drug-filled containers during an operation conducted at Latabowa in Rupahihat.
The accused have been identified as Jabed Ali and Aftab Ali.
During the operation, police also seized a four-wheeler bearing registration number AS 02Z 9008, which was allegedly being used in connection with the transportation of the contraband.
According to police, the seized narcotic substance weighed approximately 36.88 grams and was packed in 24 containers.
The two accused were taken into custody and are currently being interrogated. Police officials said further investigation is underway to ascertain the source and intended destination of the seized drugs and to identify any other individuals involved in the network.
Rupahihat Police stated that anti-drug operations in the area will continue as part of ongoing efforts to curb the trafficking and sale of narcotic substances in the district.
