Two killed, over 10 injured as truck rams wedding bus in Assam’s Goalpara

At least two people were killed and more than ten others injured in a road accident at Budhipara in Goalpara district on February 4.

According to police, the accident occurred when a wedding bus was parked by the side of a national highway and was hit from behind by a goods-laden truck, leading to panic and chaos at the scene.

The impact killed Rabi Das and Naresh Das on the spot. Both were relatives of the groom, Rabi Das was his elder brother, while Naresh Das was his maternal uncle.

Several passengers sustained serious injuries in the collision. Police rushed to the spot and rescued the injured, many of whom were in critical condition. They were immediately shifted to Nidhunuram Rajbanshi Civil Hospital in Goalpara for advanced medical treatment.

Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
