            <div class="clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item"><p>Assam Police seized two trucks loaded with tobacco in Bongaigaon district on allegations of transporting goods without proper documents and evading GST, officials said on May 7.</p>

<p>The trucks were intercepted by the Manikpur Police during a special operation launched on the basis of specific intelligence inputs.</p>

<p>According to police sources, the operation was led by Officer-in-Charge Jayanta Kakati along with Gerukabari patrol outpost in-charge Hriday Goswami.</p>

<p>The seized trucks, bearing registration numbers AS01 SC4447 and AS01 SC9093, were reportedly transporting tobacco consignments from Dinhata in West Bengal to destinations in Nalbari and Nagaon districts of Assam.</p>

<p>Police said the vehicles were taken into custody after the drivers allegedly failed to produce the necessary transport and tax-related documents during inspection. Authorities suspect an attempt to evade Goods and Services Tax (GST).</p>

<p>Further investigation into the matter is underway.</p>
