A nine-member tourist group from the United Kingdom visited Kakoijana in Assam’s Bongaigaon district, where they had the rare opportunity to observe the endangered Golden Langur in its natural environment.
Kakoijana Reserve Forest, widely recognized as one of the key habitats of the Golden Langur has increasingly drawn international interest for its rich biodiversity and conservation efforts. The visiting team spent time exploring the forest and visually documenting the langur population.
During their visit, the tourists also savoured traditional Assamese dishes prepared locally, praising both the flavours and the hospitality extended by the residents.
The group expressed admiration for Assam’s pristine natural landscapes, stating that they were deeply impressed by the region’s greenery, wildlife and serene environment.
Forest officials said the visit highlights the growing global attention toward Assam’s eco-tourism potential and conservation-driven tourism initiatives.
