Unidentified body falls from soil-laden dumper in Assam’s Sribhumi, probe underway
An unidentified body reportedly fell from a soil-laden dumper near Telikhal on the outskirts of Sribhumi town on March 7, triggering panic among local residents.
According to sources, the incident occurred in the Telikhal area when the body fell along with soil from the moving dumper. Locals who witnessed the incident immediately informed the police.
Police soon arrived at the spot and launched an investigation. A forensic team also reached the area and began examining the scene using specialised equipment from a forensic van.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been established.
Soon after the body was recovered, a large number of people gathered at the spot, creating a tense atmosphere in the locality.
Local residents said the body did not emit a strong foul smell, leading to speculation that it may not be very old.
The incident has raised several questions, including whether the body had been buried under the soil or deliberately placed inside the dumper carrying the soil.
Police have launched a detailed investigation to ascertain the circumstances under which the body ended up in the dumper and to identify the deceased.
