United People’s Party Liberal lauds AGP-AIUDF for backing Pramod Boro in Rajya Sabha Polls

United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) General Secretary Raju Kumar Narzary on March 6, expressed gratitude to the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) for extending their support to Pramod Boro in the upcoming Rajya Sabha election in India.

Addressing a press meet at the UPPL Central Office in Assam's Kokrajhar, Narzary described the development as a historic moment for the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). He said that with greater representation in Parliament, the voices and concerns of the people of Bodoland would be better reflected at the national level.

“It is a historic moment for Bodoland as three members from the region will now have representation in Parliament. This will help raise the issues of the region more effectively and push for greater development,” Narzary said.

He further noted that increased representation would play a significant role in addressing several long-pending issues concerning the region. Among them, he highlighted the need for progress on the 125th Constitutional Amendment Bill, which has been a key demand related to strengthening governance and development in the BTR.

Narzary expressed hope that the support extended by various parties would foster stronger cooperation for the overall development of the region and help resolve key issues affecting the people of Bodoland.
