UPPL holds massive rally in Assam's Dotma; Pramod Boro says party contesting independently
With the Assam Assembly elections drawing closer, political campaigning has intensified across the state, with parties launching extensive outreach efforts to secure victory for their candidates.
In Kokrajhar district’s Dotma constituency, the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) organised a massive election rally on March 27, in support of its candidate Raju Kumar Narzary. The rally witnessed significant participation, reflecting growing political activity in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
UPPL president and BTR Chief Executive Member Pramod Boro, along with minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma, attended the campaign meeting held at North Dotma playground. Following the programme, Boro led a large procession through Dotma town along with the party candidate.
Addressing the media, Pramod Boro asserted that the UPPL is contesting the elections independently, relying on its own strength. He stated that people from all communities are extending support to the party and added that voters in the Dotma constituency are seeking change from the BPF candidate Rabiram Narzary.
Boro also remarked that after exiting the NDA alliance, the party is now “relaxed and confident,” highlighting UPPL’s independent political stance in the ongoing elections.
