Voters question development record in Assam's Bhawanipur, Manas ahead of Assembly polls
With just a few days left for the 26th Assembly elections, Bhawanipur and the newly formed Manas Assembly constituencies have become key points of attention. The current MLA of Bhawanipur, Phanidhar Talukdar, who has completed nearly five years in office, is actively campaigning in the new Manas constituency.
Residents of Bhawanipur are questioning whether the MLA has delivered on his promises and whether the constituency has seen meaningful development over the past five years.
Addressing these concerns, Talukdar said he had given 32 commitments to the Chief Minister after resigning from AIUDF and joining the BJP. “These commitments have been fully implemented by the Chief Minister. Development work in the constituency continues, and opposition election propaganda has been ineffective. Those who have worked and can win elections have been assured of support,” he said.
Talukdar further stated that he is ready to contest elections from Bhawanipur, Manas, or any other constituency. “Bhawanipur, Manas, or any other constituency, I am prepared to contest wherever given the opportunity,” he added.
