‘Whatever Ajmal says, we’ve politically crushed Assam’s enemies’: Himanta Biswa Sarma

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on March 26 expressed strong confidence in a “historic” victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), claiming that the party has already weakened its political opponents in the state.

Addressing supporters during the Vijay Sankalp Yatra, Sarma said the programme witnessed massive public participation, which he described as a sign of growing support for the BJP.

Taking a swipe at Badruddin Ajmal, Sarma said that regardless of what the AIUDF leader says, the BJP has “completely destroyed the power of the enemies of Assam” politically.

He further asserted that the party would eliminate the remaining opposition influence in the next phase, signalling an aggressive campaign stance ahead of the Assembly elections.
