Wife accuses OIL driver of using fake fireman ID, loan default and family abandonment in Morigaon
Allegations of using a fake government identity card, unpaid bank loans and abandoning family members have surfaced against an employee of Oil India Limited (OIL), triggering widespread discussion in Morigaon district.
According to reports, Jitumoni Bhuyan, who works as a driver with OIL, has been accused by his wife Pompi Bhuyan of using a fake Assam government Fireman identity card, defaulting on a bank loan and severing ties with his family.
Pompi Bhuyan has submitted a written complaint before the Morigaon Superintendent of Police seeking action against her husband.
As per the complaint, the couple got married around 15 years ago and have two sons. The family reportedly lived a normal life while Jitumoni Bhuyan was posted at Noonmati as an OIL driver. However, after his transfer to Golaghat, his wife alleged that he gradually cut off communication with the family.
She also alleged that he developed a close relationship with another woman after shifting to Golaghat.
The complaint further states that notices from the State Bank of India Noonmati branch regarding a loan amount of nearly Rs 7 lakh were repeatedly sent to her address after the accused allegedly failed to repay the loan.
One of the most serious allegations involves the alleged use of a fake Assam government Fireman identity card.
Following the series of allegations, Pompi Bhuyan approached the Morigaon SP office and lodged a formal complaint demanding an investigation into the matter.
The incident has created strong reactions in the area. Police have initiated an inquiry, and officials said the authenticity of the allegations will be established only after a detailed investigation.
It remains to be seen whether Morigaon Police will detain the accused over the alleged fake identity card and related accusations.
