Wild mithun causes fear in Assam's Golaghat

Residents of Kabarugao in Golaghat district of Assam are living in fear as a wild Mithun, aka Gayal, has ventured into residential areas from the forest. The presence of the Mithun has sparked concerns among locals about potential dangers and disruptions to their daily lives.

To address the situation, a team from the Forest Department has been dispatched to Kabarugao. They are closely monitoring the movements of the wild Mithun to assess the risk it poses to the community and to devise a strategy for its safe containment.

Additionally, authorities have alerted the Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre in Kaziranga to assist in controlling the wild animals. The expertise and resources of the Centre are being called upon to ensure the Mithun is safely returned to its natural habitat without causing harm or further distress to residents.
