Woman goes missing in Manas river in Assam's Bongaigaon

A woman went missing after entering the Manas River for a bath at Kuchlaiguri under Manikpur in Assam's Bongaigaon district on Tuesday afternoon, June 2.

The missing woman has been identified as Manju Khatun.

According to local residents, Khatun had gone to the river to bathe on Tuesday afternoon but failed to return. Family members and locals launched a search after she was reported missing, but no trace of her had been found till the filing of this report.

A team of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) reached the spot and launched a search operation in the river. Officials said efforts were underway to locate the missing woman.
