Worm found in fruit drink packet in Assam's Kenduguri sparks food safety concerns

A worm was allegedly found in a fruit drink packet in the Kenduguri area of Bajali district, raising serious concerns about food safety.

The incident occurred when a local customer bought a Rs 10 worth "Maaza" packet from a neighbourhood store. After drinking half of the packet, the customer noticed something unusual. Pressing the packet, he was startled to see a worm emerge.

The customer promptly reported the incident to the shopkeeper, who notified the Food and Civil Supplies Department.

This incident has unsettled local consumers and raised pressing questions about the production and packaging standards of "Maaza." Residents are demanding immediate action and a comprehensive review of food safety protocols to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
