Youth injured, woman critically hurt in road accident at Assam's Kaliabor

Amid the ongoing Eid al-Fitr celebrations, a serious road accident was reported from Nalotoli area along the National Highway in Assam's Kaliabor, leaving one person injured and a young woman critically hurt.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred when the victim was returning home after closing her shop at Nalotoli market. A speeding motorcycle hit her from behind, causing severe injuries.

The critically injured woman has been identified as Jia Roy from Dhanekhowa, Nalotoli. She was rushed to a hospital in Tezpur by her family members after local police from the Chulung outpost reached the spot.

Following the accident, one of the two riders on the motorcycle fled the scene. The vehicle involved in the incident bears registration number AS-01BL-7973, and the riders are believed to be from the Samaguri area.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
