YouTuber’s decomposed body found in paddy field in Assam's Sribhumi

A 21-year-old man who had been missing for four days was found dead in a waterlogged paddy field at Chandkhira in Patharkandi, Sribhumi district, on September 21.

The decomposed body was recovered from a paddy field near National Highway 8 after local residents noticed a foul smell emanating from the area in the morning.

The body was found around 20 metres from the highway, lying amid the waterlogged paddy field.

Police reached the spot after receiving information and recovered the body before sending it for post-mortem examination.

The deceased was identified as Jubel Ahmed, 21, a resident of Hatirgul in the Laxmipur area. He was reportedly working as a YouTuber.

Police said cash amounting to Rs 7,020, a mobile phone and an identity card were recovered from the body. His sandals were also found near the spot.

According to police, Jubel had been missing from his home since September 17.

The recovery has also brought attention to a motorcycle found in an accident-damaged condition in the same area on Friday. The red Pulsar motorcycle, bearing registration number AS-10-F-5067, was later taken to the police station.

While some locals suspect that Jubel may have died following a motorcycle accident, others have raised the possibility of foul play. However, there is no confirmed information at present to establish the cause or circumstances of his death.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident. The exact cause of death is expected to be established after the post-mortem examination report is received.
