Zubeen's post-mortem report to be submitted to court, not made public: SIT Chief Munna Prasad Gupta

Special Investigation Team Chief and Special DGP of CID Munna Prasad Gupta on Monday, October 13 briefed the media about the ongoing investigation into the death of noted singer and cultural icon Zubeen Garg, confirming that the probe is progressing rapidly and in full accordance with legal procedures.

Gupta revealed that several key individuals connected to the case have arrived for questioning, with more expected to join the investigation in the coming days. “In the next two days, more people will arrive. There is also a possibility that one individual from Singapore will reach today,” he said.

He added that the post-mortem report will not be made public as speculated earlier. “The report will not be released at 4 PM tomorrow. It will be submitted directly before the court. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has already received the report,” Gupta clarified.

Providing further insight, Gupta stated that permission has been sought to travel to Singapore to continue the investigation. “An investigation is also being carried out in Singapore, and all necessary information has been shared with the authorities there. Once permission is granted, the SIT will visit Singapore for further inquiries,” he said.

Gupta also confirmed that individuals currently in 14-day custody cannot be subjected to re-interrogation at this stage, as per legal protocol. “The investigation is being guided by the expert committee’s report, and every procedural requirement is being strictly adhered to,” he added.

Assuring transparency and diligence, the CID SDGP emphasized that all actions are being conducted within the framework of law, and updates will continue as the probe advances.
