At least 106 more COVID-19 cases have been reported in Meghalaya on Monday. Out of these 106, 43 belonged to the armed forces. This brings the total COVID-19 positive tally in the state to 1,917.
Meanwhile, a 84 year old man died of the disease on Sunday taking the total death toll in the state to eight. The deceased was suffering from acute respiratory problem.The East Khasi Hills accounted for maximum number of new cases. A total of 64 fresh cases have been reported from the district which includes 26 security personnel. In South Garo Hills, 10 armed forces personnel tested positive for the disease while seven cases have been reported from West Garo Hills.
Seven more patients were discharged from various hospitals after recovering taking the total number of people discharged in the state to 776. Meghalaya at present has 1,133 active cases.
