12 Assam Rifles apprehends three drug peddlers in Manipur

Guwahati, 27 February 2019:

Upon carrying out a routine check of a white Maruti car traveling from Moreh to Imphal, a team of troops of Khudengthabi Post, Manipur apprehended contraband items on two suspected drug smugglers yesterday at 07:15 am.

The apprehended were identified as 25 years old Paolun Haokip, and 24 years old Jangkhopao Kipgen.

The police seized 32 packets of suspected brown sugar from their possession weighing approximately 420 grams including packaging material. The brown sugar approximately costs about Rs. 2 crores per kilogram.

Similarly, at around 12:00 hours on Tuesday, authorities stopped a Maruti Brezza car carrying registration no. MN02G 3257 headed from Moreh to Imphal and nabbed 960 gms of brown sugar worth an estimated 1.92 crores from a certain Seiboi Singsit.
