Issac Paulallungmuan Vaiphei, of Kangvai village in Churachandpur district is all set to appear in class 10 board exams. However, what makes this truly remarkable is that Isaac is only 12 years old, and will soon become the youngest in his state to appear for the exam.

Isaac, who studied in Mount Olive School till class 8, is the eldest son of his parents, and boasts of a stellar IQ of 141, at par with the brightest minds on the planet. And, as per the test results conducted by the Department of Clinical Psychology RIMS Imphal, the whiz kid's 'mental age' is 17 years, 5 months!

The administrative board of BOSEM, Manipur, has now given the approval to Isaac to register his name, with his actual date of birth for the upcoming board exams, terming it a 'special case'.

Earlier, his father, Genkholien Vaiphei had submitted an application last year seeking permission from the education department to allow his son to write in the matric exams.
As per the official rules, a student shall complete 15 years of age on April 1 of the year in which a candidate intends to appear for the class 10 board exams, however, an exception has been made in the case of Issac owing to his brilliance.
