18 more COVID deaths and nearly 600 new cases reported in Meghalaya in 24 hours

SHILLONG: Meghalaya in the past 24 hours recorded an all-time high of 591 fresh cases in a single day, pushing the total number of positive cases in the state to 3,726.

Meghalaya, on the other hand, reported 18 more deaths related to COVID-19. With the new fatalities, the state's death toll has climbed up to 268.

Of the total 591 fresh cases, 318 were reported from East Khasi Hills, followed by  Ri Bhoi (93),  West Garo Hills (63), West Jaintia Hils (37), South West Garo Hills (32), East Jaintia Hills (14), East Garo Hills (9), South West Khasi Hills (9), North Garo Hills (8), West Khasi Hills (7) and one in South Garo Hills.

A total of 228 people infected with the virus have been recovered, taking the total number of people discharged to 17,582.

The state currently has 3726 active COVID cases.

A total of 498727 tests have been conducted so far.
