KOHIMA: Two members of the Niki Sumi faction of the Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN) have landed in the police net in eastern Nagaland's Mon district.
Officials of the police station at Tobu arrested two NSCN (K-Niki) militants identified as Bechung Konyak (40) and self-styled lieutenant Kossam Konyak (27).
According to reports, the duo had taken two persons and their vehicle towards Wangshu village road in Tobu town on June 6 and forcefully extorted Rs. 5,000 by intimidating them with threats of injury and loss of life.

The victims were subsequently released on payment of the amount.
In the subsequent operation launched by the Tobu Police Station team, the two accused persons were nabbed on ,June 5 and the sum of Rs. 5,000 which was extorted from the victims were recovered from them.
A case has been registered at Tobu Police Station under relevant sections of law and investigation is in progress.
