The investigation in the alleged scam was conducted by the CID after a complaint was registered by one Mamud Hassan.

The Pre-Matric Scholarship fund for minority community is a central sector scheme implemented by the government for students who score 50% marks and whose parents' annual income does not exceed Rs 1 lakh are eligible to apple.

The scholarship at the pre-matric level will encourage parents from minority communities to send their school-going children to school, lighten their financial burden on school education and sustain their efforts to support their children to complete school education.
