212 nominations from 203 persons to contest in Mizoram polls

Guwahati, November 12, 2018:

212 nominations have been filed by 203 persons to contest for 40 Mizoram assembly seats so far.

Seven political parties will contest in the Mizoram polls.

Zoram Thar party, Indian National Congress, Zoram People’s Movement, People's Representation for Identity of Status of Mizoram (PRISM), Mizoram Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), Nationalist Congress Party and National People’s Party has a candidates filing nomination from two constituencies.

The two larger parties INC and MNF filed nomination from all the 40 constituencies, whereas the BJP has filed nomination from 39 constituencies, Zoram People’s Movement from 35 seats, Zoram Thar party in 24, PRISM in 14, NPP in nine constituencies and NCP will contest from six seats.
