GANGTOK: As many as 68 monks from various monasteries from various parts of Sikkim have been tested COVID-19 Positive once again.
The majority of the monks among the 68 cases have been reported from Lingdum monastery have.
Sikkim today reported as many as 226 fresh COVID-19 cases pushing the tally to 22,623.
Among the new cases of infection, East Sikkim district reported the highest number of cases with 144, followed by South Sikkim (41), West Sikkim (40), and North Sikkim (one).

The COVID death toll in the state is now 317. No death has been reported during the day due to COVID.
Sikkim currently has 2,281 active cases, while a total of 19,767 people infected with the virus have recovered from the disease so far.
Meanwhile,258 patients have migrated to other states
Earlier in May this year, more than 300 monks had tested positive for the virus.
