MANDI: At least 79 students and three staff members at a boarding school in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh have tested positive for COVID-19.
The school is located in Dharampur town of Mandi.
It needs to be mentioned that the Himachal Pradesh government had previously announced that school closures in the state would be extended until September 25, in light of the current COVID-19 situation and positivity rate.
All schools, with the exception of residential schools, will remain closed until September 25, according to PTI, citing an order issued by the Himachal Pradesh government.

The order stated that for residential schools, a standard operating procedure developed by the Department of Education will be followed to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Meanwhile, both teaching and non-teaching staff will continue to work in schools, according to the state government's order.
The state government had previously ordered school closures until September 21.
