MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Bikramjeet Kanwarpal died this morning after fighting the battle against COVID-19.

The 52-years-old actor was admitted to Mumbai's Seven Hills Hospital, where he breathed his last.

Bikramjeet was a former army officer who appeared in a number of films and television series as a supporting character.

The late actor was last seen in the web series Special Ops from Disney+Hotstar.

Bikramjeet Kanwarpal posted a video on YouTube last year encouraging everyone to stay at home when the pandemic hit the world.

In the video, he was heard saying that he missed his family and wished to see them soon.

People from all walks of life, starting from fans to colleagues to friends and the entire entertainment industry have mourned the actor's untimely demise.

Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt took to Instagram condoled his demise.

"Major Bikramjeet Kanwarpal passes away. Taken from us by the cruel pandemic. I have done a lot of films with him and this doesn't get closer home. The days are turning into one long obituary and yet each life that we lose cannot be just a number. We cannot allow it to become a number. Each a special friend. May his soul rest in peace. " the filmmaker wrote on Instagram.
