MUMBAI: Veteran actor Paresh Rawal has been tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday days after receiving the vaccine against novel coronavirus.

The 65-year-old actor took to Twitter and sharing the information about being tested COVID positive he urged those who came in contact with him to also get tested.

“Unfortunately, I have tested positive for COVID-19. All those that have come in contact with me in the last 10 days are requested to please get themselves tested,” the actor wrote on Twitter.

The veteran actor has received the first shot of the COVID vaccine on March 9.

“V for vaccines.! Thanks to All the Doctors and Nurses and the front-line Health care workers and The Scientists. Thanks, @narendramodi,” He tweeted.

Friends, colleagues from all corners of the film industry including actors Anupam Kher, filmmaker Rahul Dholakia, Ranvir Shorey, and others wished for his speedy recovery.

Earlier, actors Milind Soman, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Malaika Arora Arjun Kapoor, and some others had tested positive for the virus.

Meanwhile, Mumbai reported 5,513 Covid-19 cases yesterday, taking the tally of cases in the country's financial capital to 3,85,628. The death toll has risen to 11,629.

According to reports, people in different parts of the country are getting infected for the virus even after receiving the vaccination against the virus.

One person in Assam’s Jorhat has already died due to the virus infection days after receiving the vaccination. Several others are stated to be under treatment at Jorhat Medical College and Hospital.
