Agnes Kharshing’s statement recorded

Guwahati, November 20, 2018:

In connection with the attack by suspected coal mafia, the statement of social activist Agnes Kharshing was recorded by the investigation officer on Thursday.

It may be mentioned that Kharshing was attacked on November 8 when she went to East Jaintia Hills after receiving information about coal mining going on in the place and a few trucks being seized by the police. On reaching the spot, Kharshing started taking pictures of the location, when a group of people, suspected to be linked with coal mafias attacked her.

Agnes was discharged from North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) on December 10.
