NEW DELHI: All the private and public schools in Delhi will be shut until further notice due to the rising cases of COVID-19, said chief minister Arvind Kejriwal this evening.
“Due to increasing cases of COVID-19 , all schools (including government, private) in Delhi are being closed for all classes till further notice,” he tweeted in hindi.
As a result of the recent spurt in Covid-19 cases across the country, some states have announced a suspension of physical education classes.

Furthermore, the state education department has also issued a notice in this regard.
The order read: “Aided and Unaided Recognised Schools were allowed to call the students of Classes IX to XII with the consent of parents and following the Standard Operating Procedure for providing proper guidance regarding Mid Term & Annual Examinations related activities.”
Due to the sudden increase in COVID-19 cases in Delhi, all Heads of government, government-aided, and unaided recognised schools are hereby notified that all academic and examination activities conducted via physical mode will be suspended with immediate effect until further orders are issued. They are also instructed to ensure that no student from Classes IX to XII is physically called into the school for some kind of Academic or Examination Activity (such as Practical Practice, Mid-Term & Annual Examination related work i.e., Practical, Project Submission, Assessments, and so on) before further orders,the order stated.

“Also, it is once again reiterated (refer Circular No. DE.5/43/04/xam/2018/459-464 dated 01.04.2021) that no student of any class shall be called physilly n School till further orders. However, teaching learning activities may be conducted for tfe stu nts through digital modes,” the order added.
On Thursday, the capital saw the largest one-day Covid-19 jump, with over 7500 new events.
Over 5000 new Covid-19 cases were registered in Delhi for two days in a row. Currently, there are 6,98,005 cases in the national capital.
To combat the sharp increase in coronavirus cases, Delhi has also enforced a night curfew from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. until April 30.
