IMPHAL: Arunachal Pradesh has so far been the top contributor from the Northeast towards construction of the Ram Temple at Ayodhya having contributed Rs 4.5 crore.

Manipur stood second with a contribution of Rs 2 crore in the world's largest crowd funding campaign on March 6, 2021, declared the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.

According to a statement from the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Mizoram has contributed Rs 21 lakh, Nagaland Rs 28 lakh and Meghalaya Rs 85 lakh. Assam, which is under model code of conduct for the state assembly elections, could not contribute.

In March 2020, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust began work on the Ram Temple.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation for the temple in Ayodhya in August last year.

The construction of the Ram temple has been entrusted to the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.

The 45-day nationwide Ram Temple Nidhi Samarpan campaign, which raised nearly Rs 2,100 crore for the construction of Ayodhya's Ram Mandir.

“From the North-Eastern region of Bharat, Arunachal Pradesh have contributed INR 45 million, Manipur INR 20 million, Mizoram INR 2.1 million, Nagaland INR 2.8 million, Meghalaya INR 8.5 million, & from South, Tamil Nadu contributed INR 850 million, and Kerala INR 130 million,” the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra tweeted in its official account.
