An awareness campaign on wildlife and bio-diversity conservation was held at Ramsing village (fringe village) of Mouling National Park, Upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh on 9th June. The programme, organized by local youth of Ramsing under sponsorship of Department of Environment & Forests, was chaired by Adong Pertin, ADC Yingkiong.

The ADC, in his address, said that people’s participation was must for conservation of wildlife & bio-diversity. DFO, Mauling National Park, Boken Pao, while highlighting the conservation efforts of the Park, urged the locals, including youth, PRI leaders and people of Ramsing area to join hands with the department in protecting and conserving the rich flora and fauna of the Park. The DFO further called upon the people of the area to stop hunting specially birds in and around the National Park.

District Superintendent of Police E Bagra, Jengging Circle Officer Dubom Apang and ex-ZPM of Jengging Bodak Jongkey attended the awareness campaign as the resource persons. They also spoke about importance & value of the Park and wildlife & bio-diversity conservation.

On the occasion, solar lights are distributed to the villagers. The Head GB, GBs, women wings, youth, PRI leaders also spoke and all agreed to cooperate with the department on its wildlife conservation efforts
