ARUNACHAL PRADESH: PHE & WS PASIGHAT DIVISION ORGANIZED HIMALAYAN CLEAN DRIVE AT BODAK

A social service was conducted by the PHE & WS Division, Pasighat on 27th May at Bodak village under Mebo Block as a part of celebration of Himalayan Clean Up under Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) which is a part of campaign launched by the Integrated Mountain Initiative (IMI) and Zero Waste Himalayas to create awareness on the ill-effects of plastic on the environment.

PRI leaders like East Siang ZPC, Kaling Dai along with Smti. Miti Pertin Tali, ASM Yapgo village, PRIs members of Bodak village as well as all the divisional staffs took part in the programme, informed Er. Kabong Tayeng, AE PHE Mebo Block. On the occasion of clean drive, Er. Bimal Welly, Executive Engineer PHE & WS Pasighat Division highlighted the technological way of piggery and disposal of excretion of pigsty and importance of keeping cleanness in the village surrounding for promoting tourists attractions in the village.

The ultimate objective of the Himalayan Clean Up drive is to move toward a zero plastic world in the 12 mountain states of the country including the North-eastern states and adopts the traditional mode of packaging of food material and reduces our dependence on plastics.
