Arunav Dutta from Jorhat, Assam won the most prestigious Maharashtra Government State Award (MGSA). He won the award for Best Sound Design with Oscar winner Resul Pookutty. They won the award for the Marathi feature film Kshitij A Horizon. He will receive the award on April 30th. Kshitij A Horizon is directed by Manouj Kadaamh. The film is of 12 year old girl who struggle to continue her education in the face of severe adversity.

Arunav Dutta completed his sound engineering from Jyoti Chitraban Film and Television Institute in Guwahati. He went to Mumbai to work under guidance of National Award and MPSE Golden Reel Award winner Amrit Pritam and Resul Pookutty. Arunav worked as Sound Designer and Sound Editor at Resul Pookutty Studio Canaries Post Sound. He worked for more than sixty films including Ra One, Robot, Ghajini, English Vinglish, Highway etc. Arunav Dutta is the second from Assam after Amrit Pritam who won this award in 2015 for the Marathi film A Rainy Day.
