Assam: 8,000 YaBa Tablets Seized in Cachar, 2 Smugglers Arrested

Guwahati, March 5, 2020:

On March 4, 2 persons were arrested in Lailapur under Dholai Police Station in Assam's Cachar district  for possessing 8,000 World is Yours/YaBa tablets.

Based on secret information in the night on February 4, the authorities of Dholai Police Station of Cachar and staff conducted a raid at Lailapur.

In due course of time, two persons, namely Rebul Hussain Laskar and Dilwar Hussain Laskar were apprehended along with a large consignment of YaBa tablets, a common intoxicant that is usually smuggled in the NE Indian States.

The authorities recovered 40 packets of WY tablets (total 8000 tablets), suspected to be sold in the local market for a hefty profit, from the duo.

In this connection, a case vide Dholai PS Case No.56/2020 U/S-21(b) NDPS Act has been registered.
