ASSAM: EID-UL-FITR CELEBRATED IN THE STATE

The Islamic holy festival of Eid-Ul-Fitr has been celebrated across the country which marks the breaking of the fast at the end of Ramadan. Meanwhile it has been celebrated with full enthusiasm in Assam also. The Tinsukia district of Assam celebrates the festival of love in the Lalbangla Masjid. While offering prayers in the early part of the day the devotees wish for maintaining peace and brotherhood. The celebrations are characterised by getting together of family and friends, exchange of gifts and communal feasting on meat delicacies as well as delectable desserts like seviyan, sheer khurma, etc
