A Public Grievance Cell has been constituted for quick disposal of public complaints relating to panchayat and rural development in Hailakandi district.
The move comes following directions from Deputy Commissioner Adil Khan in the wake of scores of public complaints at the PGR Day held by the district administration on Tuesdays.
Disclosing this, Project Director, DRDA and CEO, Zilla Parishad, Hailakandi, NK Shantee Kumar Singha said the Public Grievances Redressal Day (PGR) Day will be held on first and third Saturdays at the Zilla Parishad Office from 11 am onwards. Registration of public complaints will start from 9.30 to 10.30 am.
Singha said all the Block Development Officers with assisting staff would have to attend the PGR Day without fail. In the event of holiday, the PGR Day will be held in the next working day.
A 10-member PG Cell has been constituted headed by Chief Accounts Officer, Zilla Parishad, NK Das. Singha also informed that the first PGR Day slated for June 16 (3rd Saturday) has been deferred due to Id-ul-Fitr and now would be held on June 20.
