Assam Rifles, Customs seize tortoises, reptiles, exotic seeds in Mizoram

MIZORAM: The Assam Rifles has seized some tortoises, reptiles and exotic seeds and arrested one person in this connection at Champhai district of Mizoram.

A joint team of Assam Rifles and Customs department seized 29 leopard tortoises, 38 red-footed tortoises, 17 yellow, orange, green iguana, three bearded dragons, three albino iguana, exotic seeds, and fertilizer at Friendship Bridge along the Tyao river of the district on Thursday.

The arrested person along with the seized items have been handed over to Customs department for further legal proceedings.
