ASSAM: TWO PROMINENT ARTIST SELECTED FOR BISHNU RABHA AWARD 2018

The Renowned Sculptor Dr Janak Jhankar Narzary and Dance proponent Guneswar Bhuyan have been selected for the Bishnu Rabha Award, 2018.The Bishnu Rabha awards, 2018 for Dr Janak Jhankar Narzary will be presented at the central Rabha Divas function to be held at Sonapur Mini Stadium on June 20. The Chief Minister of Assam Sri Sarbananda Sonowal will honour the duo.

Dr Narzary, a former Head of the Department of History of Art at Visva Bharati University of Santiniketan, has earned critical acclaim as a sculptor through his exhibitions in India and abroad, including Italy, Germany, Turkey, South Korea, Mexico, Thailand, etc. He has also represented India at a number of cultural seminars abroad.
